Fire Erupts At Brooklyn Technical High School, No Injuries Reported

The fire is believed to have started in the walls of the sixth floor cafeteria bathroom of the 11-story building.

Brooklyn Technical High School students were evacuated from the building early Wednesday afternoon after a fire broke out inside the walls of the sixth floor.

The fire is believed to have started in the walls of the cafeteria bathroom of the 11-story building, located at 29 Fort Greene Pl., Councilwoman Letitia James, D-35, said in a statement about the blaze. 

The FDNY reported that the fire was under control, and there were no injuries reported. 

Students were brought to DeKalb Avenue to wait out the blaze. Nearly 6,000 students attend the specialized Brooklyn high school.
