Fight Breaks Out at Lafayette Deli: Police Blotter

Incident occured on April 18 at the Lafayette Avenue store.

A roundup of recent crime in the area: 

At 12 p.m. on April 16, a 17-year-old man was heading home on Washington Avenue and Fulton Street when three people attacked him, punching him in his head and kicking hime while trying to take his property. Police arrested 18-year-old Jamal Smith, a 17-year-old woman and a 15-year-old male in connection to the incident. 

At 4:45 p.m. on April 17, a 14-year-old male was walking home on Myrtle Avenue and Adelphi Street when someone came from behind, punched him in the face and stole his iPhone 5.

At 6:50 p.m. on April 18, a 27-year-old man got into an argument with a 45-year-old man at Lafayette Deli, located at 376 Lafayette Ave. The 45-year-old man hit the 27-year-old in the head multiple times with an 18-ounce glass bottle of Budweiser beer. EMS treated the victim, who said he was in pain and felt light-headed. Police arrested 45-year-old Elmamy Magaya in connection to the incident. 

At 9 a.m. on April 21, a 28-year-old woman was arguing with a 28-year-old man on Monumnet Walk near Park Avenue over sneakers. During the argument, the man put his hands around her throat, causing her to loose her breath. Shawn Smith, 28, was arrested in connection to the incident.
