Two suspects arrested in connection with an attack that left a homeless woman with serious injuries on July 27.

The victim of recently came forward to give her account of a brutal and bloody attack at the hands of a young man and an older female acquaintance.

"I was just minding my business," the victim, a 37-year-old homeless woman, told Patch Sunday as she continued to recover from last week's beat-down and slashing that left her with over 200 stitches on both arms.

The victim's name is being withheld for her safety.

Police arrested Anthony Villafane, 27, shortly after the attack, which occurred on Nevins and Livingston streets at around 10 a.m. on July 27. Laurie Tascon, 40, was arrested the next day.

According to the victim, Villafane and Tascon approached her as she tried to enter a store on Nevins Street.

The couple proceeded to beat her with a golf club, the victim said. Villafane then pulled out a razor blade and slashed the woman on both of her arms.

Bystanders, including a Con Edison employee, managed to pull the pair off her, she said.

The woman was transported to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, where she said she received numerous stitches and was released later that day.

The attack underlined the dangers facing the city's growing homeless population, who like the victim of last week's assault, continue to be easy prey for lawbreakers.

"They stole everything... My bag, my phone, everything," said the woman, who remains on the street. "I have nothing left."

Villafane, who was released on a $200,000 bond, and Tascon are scheduled to appear at Brooklyn Criminal Court on Aug. 2.

The victim said she will be there to testify.
