“The NYPD got the anonymous tip and started the formal [bomb] search 15 to 20 minutes ago,” said Principal Randy Asher of Brooklyn Technical High School, explaining police started searching his school at around 6 p.m. “We cancelled all extracurricular activities, sent the kids home, and followed protocol.”

Principal Asher said Deputy Inspector Scott Henderson, the commanding officer of the 88th Precinct, policemen from the 88, and the high school’s custodial staff are currently in the building conducting a sweep. The custodial staff is assisting cops with access within the school.

Brooklyn Technical will have a statement on its website with all the details on the bomb threat within two to three hours.

Activity is minimal outside the school, with only a dozen people composed of school personnel.

According to the Community Affairs Officer from the 88th Precinct, cops have not found a bomb:

“Nothing was founded,” Officer Nasser said, explaining that police are still inside, but they have not found anything suspicious.

A parent tried to go inside to get her son’s backpack, but an NYPD school safety agent said no one is permitted to enter. Cops said that no one is allowed inside the school until tomorrow.
