Security Guard Tussle

An Atlantic Terminal Mall security guard was grappled and had his radio snatched and smashed after trying to stop a group of teens from videotaping women.

The 23-year-old guard spotted three teens taping women on March 31 at 2:45 p.m. and approached the group to have them stop, according to a police report.

One teen ignored the gaurd's request to have them stop filming and they were asked to leave when another member of the group cursed at him.

As the guard reached for his Motorola work radio to call for back-up, one of the teens grabbed it and threw it on the ground. The other teens grabbed onto the guard as the other picked up the radio before all three ran off.

The gaurd was not injured.

 

Gunpoint Robbery

A 46-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint in the lobby of his Lafayette Ave. building by two men.

The man was entering his building on March 26 at 4:40 p.m. when the two unknown men approached him. One whipped out a handgun and ordered the victim to “lay down face to the ground.”

"If you move, I'll shoot you," stated the gun-wielding bandit before stealing the victim's BlackBerry, $100 in cash and his wallet, which contained his credit card. 

No arrests have been made.

 

Slashing at Whitman Houses

An 16-year-old girl was busted for assualting another teen at the Whitman Houses after she got into an argument with an 18-year-old woman.

The fight started at the building on N. Portland Ave on March 28, just before 11 p.m. and ended when the 16-year-old whipped out a knfe and cut the victim on her left arm and hand. 

The 16-year-old, whose name is being withheld due to her age, was charged with assault.

 

Ice Cream Delivery Truck Burgled

A GPS system, cellphone and a Sirius radio were stolen from an ice cream company's delivery truck on March 27 at 2:25 p.m. The driver told cops he left the vehicle's doors open and noticed the missing equipment when he returned from making a delivery.

 

Ransacked Apartment

A 22-year-old woman had about $800 in cash and accessories robbed from her Hanson Pl. apartment.

The woman told cops she left her apartment on March 29 at about 1 p.m. and found her front door open and saw cwhen she returned home at about 10:30 p.m. to find her place had been ransacked, according to a police report.

Cops said surveiilance video shows three men dropping items down the building's stairwell. No arrests have been made.

 

Red Apple Robbery

A 42-year-old woman told cops she had her wallet stolen from her jacket pocket at the Red Apple grocery store on Myrtle Ave. on March. 30. after she was bumped several times in the crowded store. The wallet contained her license, credit cards, a MetroCard and LIRR card.

 

Wallet Swiped at R Train Platform

A woman told cops she had her wallet snatched during a ride on the R train March 28.

The 27-year-old told cops she placed her MetroCard in her wallet after going through the turnstile at the Atlantic Ave. station and was bumped several times while on the subway.

She didn't realize her wallet, which contained her credit and debit cards, was missing until she reached the 8th St. station in Manhattan and discovered charges had been made on at least one of her cards, according to cops.
