2 Seriously Injured by Falling Tree Branch in Fort Greene

A 17-year-old girl and elderly man were hit in the head by the limb, which fell from a tree in the Ingersoll Housing Development.

Two people were seriously injured Thursday when they were hit by a large branch that fell from a tree in the Ingersoll Housing Development, authorities told the New York Post.

The tree limb, which fell at approximately 3 p.m. from a London plane tree, landed on an elderly man and 17-year-old girl. Both were hit in the head by the branch, which fell a distance of six stories, the Post said.

“She just couldn’t react in time,” the victim’s sister, Sharffee Moore, 34, told the Post. Moore declined to identify her sister, but said the teenager needed five staples to close a wound on the top of her head. She also said her sister had been on her way to visit her grandmother.
