15-Year-Old Arrested for Stealing iPhone: Police Blotter

Also: more than $1,000 worth of musical equipment stolen from storage area.

A roundup of crime in the area: 

At 2:30 p.m. on June 29, a 43-year-old man told police he temporarily closed down the store Raifat, located at 887 Fulton St, and a witness from the store next door told him that an employee was seen at the location overnight loading onto a truck mannequins, a sewing machine, a fax machine and other items. The items taken were worth a total $12,450.

Between June 1 at 4 p.m. to June 29 to 4:50 p.m., a 42-year-old man said someone took items from the storage room at Self Storage America, located at 45 Clinton Ave. Items taken included an electric bass, amp case, turntable, turntable case, microphone stand and were worth a total of $1,775. 

At 4 p.m. on June 30, a 42-year-old woman said a 15-year-old boy took her iPhone 5 from her hand and with three other people, ran away on Clinton and Lafayette Avenues. The boy threw the iPhone under a car, which police found. Police arrested the 15-year-old boy on Vanderbilt Avenue. 

At 4 p.m. on June 29, a 62-year-old man parked his 2005 Honda CR-V in front go 246 Hall St. and when he came back at 12:30 p.m. on June 30, the car was gone. The Brooklyn Navy Yard, which serves as a drop-off point for cars towed in the area, was called and there no answer at time as it was an off-hour time.
