Cumbo's Assertions???

The pervasive scandal of this NYC primary season is the flooding of City Council races with hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Real Estate Board of New York -- REBNY -- through its political action committee, JOBS4NEW YORK.  
     REBNY/JOBS4NEWYORK are attempting to buy their way onto the City Council to control the development vote.  They've placed $10,000,000 to win on 19 Council races.  
     Voter repulsion over buying candidates has left some recipients of REBNY/JOBS4NY's largesse a little nervous.  The money's great as well as the fig leaf of candidates "knowing nothing"...yet not all voters are buying the denials.
     Laurie Cumbo, one of the REBNY 19, has become a little nervous.  She says she's told REBNY to stop the torrent of dollars.  But no one in the 35th has seen the letter she says she sent REBNY to cut it out. 
     On the eve of the September 10 primary, from all appearances, REBNY hasn't seen it, either.
