- Friday afternoon SUNY Downstate officially withdrew its plans to close Long Island College Hospital (LICH). It's a huge victory for ALL and congratulations to those who helped to make it possible. It demonstrates the strength of individuals when they come together for common good. Let's continue to work hard to ensure that we protect vital healthcare services and other institutions in Brooklyn.
