1. Read like a rebel.
Don’t miss the Renegade Reading Series at LaunchPad. Emerging writers of every stripe read on the third Wednesday of the month in Brooklyn's Crown Heights at LaunchPad. Featuring work from Brooklyn and beyond, we invite you to come hang out at our venue, LaunchPad, each month to drink wine, eat cupcakes, catch up with friends, relax, and listen to an eclectic lineup of amazing writers. 721 Franklin Ave, 8 p.m.

2. Rock out. Come to The Way Station and hear Emily Danger Band + Hope & Anchor + Cory and the Rag Tags playEmily Danger is a dark cabaret rock band from Brooklyn. They combine haunting melodies and amp; vulnerable lyrics with orchestral, heavy and often dissonant arrangements. 683 Washington Ave, 8 p.m.

3. Sing the blues.

4. Ice cream party. Stop by the Ice Cream and Cheesecake - Family Holiday Party to celebrate the Jewish holiday Shavout. In honor of Shavuot, there will be an exciting Ice Cream, Cheesecake and Blintzes party for the entire family. It’s the day (on the Jewish calendar) when the Torah was given to the Jewish nation, also known as the birthday of the Jewish nation. 5.Don’t move your car. Alternate side parking rules are suspended today, Wed., May 15 and tomorrow May 16 for the Jewish holiday Shavuot.
