Tap Troupe from Taiwan hit the LIU Brooklyn Kumble Stage July 12-15

Dance Works in association with the Taipei Cultural Center of TECO in New York present "Daydreamer+" at LIU Brooklyn's Kumble Theater.

Dance Works, an exciting tap dance company from Taiwan will hit the Kumble Stage this week!

"Daydreamer+," presented by Dance Works in association with the Taipei Cultural Center of TECO in New York takes the audience on a daydreamer’s musical journey. Choreographed by Rex Peng, “Daydreamer+” incorporates tap dancing, percussion, new media technologies and music from across the world, including India, South Africa and eastern China.

“Daydreamer+” will run Thursday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, July 13, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 15, at 3 p.m. Kumble Theater is located on Flatbush Avenue between DeKalb Avenue and Willoughby Street. Dance Works was created by a group of enthusiastic young dancers from Taiwan in 2001. It has grown to become one of the most prominent tap organizations in Asia. Over the course of the years, the company has performed on campuses, schools, and community centers across Taiwan. Dance Works has also performed in Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

The company has spearheaded the annual Taipei Tap Festival, “Tap Together” since 2005. It has grown to become the most important tap festival in Asia and has hosted well-known dancers, including Jason Samuels Smith, Chloe Arnold, Derick K. Grand, and others.
