President Obama wants to use diplomacy to settle disagreements with Iran. This approach has the support of the majority of the American people and our allies around the world.

But Republican and Democratic hawks in Congress, led by our Senator Charles Schumer, are trying to torpedo an agreement with Iran by demanding more sanctions now and insisting on such severe conditions that Iran would pull out of negotiations.

The last thing Brooklyn, our country or the world needs is yet another disastrous war in the Middle East. As Tax Day approaches, we demand that our taxes be used NOT for another war or more war budgets but to rebuild our communities. We want our taxes to go for schools, hospitals, health care, infrastructure, fixing the environment, affordable housing and jobs ... NOT MORE WARS!

We can work to prevent more hostilities and possibly another war in the Middle East by acting now. Once a war gets started, it's impossible to stop!

* After the rally, we will walk to the offices of Rep. Hakeem Jeffries. He has refused to support negotiations with Iran and is supporting efforts in Congress to undermine the talks and diplomacy that the President has initiated. Congressman Jeffries—your constituents are already suffering from two wars in the Mid East...we demand that you support a peaceful approach to settling disputes with Iran, an approach favored by the President, our allies and the majority of the American people!
