Ft. Greene Park Literary Festival

The 9th annual Fort Greene Park Summer Literary Festival will
present a free outdoor reading on Saturday, August 24 at 2:00 PM featuring
young writers (ages 6-18) reading alongside faculty writers from the newly
formed The Writers Foundry at St. Joseph’s College and other up-and-coming
Brooklyn-based poets. Afterwards, the public is invited to
Greenlight Bookstore (located at 686
Fulton Street), for an after-party and time to mingle with the day’s fabulous
readers.

Featured faculty Lit Fest
readers will include novelist and healthcare professional Chris Adrian; fiction writer and journalist Timothy
Small;
and novelist and former PEN Prison Writing Program Director Jackson Taylor. Award-winning poet and Urban Word NYC mentor Angel Nafis rounds out the
day’s line-up with readings from her BlackGirl
Mansion.
The many stories and lives lived between these readers are only a
taste of the literary style and richness to be found in this corner of
Brooklyn.
