Fort Greene Park Greenmarket: Learn about Worm Composting w/ a home bin!

"Worms are coming to Fort Greene Park Greenmarket! Visit the orange Food Scrap Drop-off tent (at Dekalb Ave and Cumberland St) between 8:00am and 3:00pm to learn about red wiggler worm composting. Compost coordinator Chris Thompson will have an example worm bin on-site, and he is prepared to field all of your questions about vermiculture. Come and learn the finer points of worm husbandry, including: building a worm bin, feeding your worms, and harvesting the valuable fertilizer that they produce."

The fastest contestant to eat a doughnut with no hands wins a bag of market goodies! The Myrtle Eats Fresh Commuity Chef will be on hand for a cooking demonstration featuring market ingredients.
