Thanksgiving Cooking Class Offered At Prospect

Monday, November 19th
7pm
$60 per person
Duration: Approx. 1.5 hrs.
Available Spots: 14

Prospect - Modern New-American restaurant and bar in Brooklyn's Fort Greene - will be hosting a pre-Thanksgiving Cooking Class, a few days before the big feast. The class will offer tips on how to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner highlighting all the festive trimmings, mixed with some non-traditional takes on classic dishes. Executive Chef Kyle McClelland will instruct how to get through the big dinner by demonstrating how to properly brine turkey and cook it to perfection, along with foie gras stuffing, fresh cranberry sauce, roasted squash, green bean casserole, and roasted brussel sprouts, a signature creation deemed "green candy." This class will include carefully selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage pairings, ideal for the big day.

The class will be held on Monday, November 9th, at 7:00pm and is open to 14 people. This is the second in the cooking class series, the first of which, held on November 5th, was a butchery class where instruction on butchering included an 80 lb tuna and whole pig. The butchery class will be offered again in January.

Further cooking classes will be hosted on select Mondays throughout December, continuing with fresh pasta making on December 3rd, followed by fall fruit and vegetable pickling, basic and advanced bread baking, and more (dates to be announced next month; price varies per course).

Further to note, all class attendees will receive a 10% discount towards their next dining visit to Prospect (excludes weekend nights).

Prospect opened on September 28th and is located near the new Barclays Center, at 773 Fulton Street. To book this class or for further class inquiries, please call (718) 596-6826. Further dates and information can be found at www.prospectbk.com.
