Mural Painting in Coney Island for Sandy Victims

SONYA helping to organizing a collaborative mural project with the non-profit Brooklyn Jubilee. We are going to beautify a 40' trailer that has just been set up alongside an emergency food site in Sandy-ravaged Coney Island.

The trailer will function as Brooklyn Jubilee's home base for legal advice in the neighborhood, and we are on a mission to transform its walls into a rainbow of colors. The painted trailer will provide a point of light in the darkness for so many people who are still without power/heat/services/homes.

We are still seeking artists to help us paint the trailer, making it a symbol of hope in bringing Coney Island back to life!

If you are interested, here are the dates and times:

Saturday Dec 1 (11am-3pm)
Sunday Dec 2 (11am-3pm)

Location: 2828 Neptune Ave., next to the Coney Island Gospel Assembly, which is a hub for emergency supplies and food, yet still has no power.

Thank you to those who have already jumped on board with this project. The more the merrier as we will all work together to create a collaborative image of hope! Feel free to bring friends. It's going to be cold, so dress warm!

We are still seeking some supplies. If you have small quantities and can bring with you, that would be great!
-exterior latex paint
-brushes (all sizes)
-plastic cups
-Plastic containers with Lids
-Rollers (all sizes)
-Tarps
