Welcome to Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Patch

Join Editor Stephen Brown for an introduction about the site and how you can join in.

Thank you for visiting Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Patch.

Patch is an invaluable news and information source for the neighborhood. We'll be here around the clock, reporting on the latest restaurant openings, arts and cultural events, residential and commercial developments, local politics and much more.

Here's a bit more about what exactly Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Patch has to offer:

NEWS

Our news section is divided into several categories. We'll cover breaking news as well as civic life, social issues and the goings-on in schools. We'll also keep you up to date on sports, nightlife and the food scene.

We'll cover Fort Greene's world-class arts scene and give a platform to local politicians and residents in our Opinion section.

DIRECTORY

Our extensive directory is where you'll find everything you need to know about the businesses right around the corner. We'll give you addresses, phone numbers, hours of operation and maybe even some history in each listing.

EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Want to know which coffee shops and bookstores in the neighborhood regularly hold book readings, or when the next community board meeting is? Check our daily Events section. From civic group meetings to charity events and volunteer opportunities, this is where you'll find out what's going on in the neighborhood.

We invite you to be a part of Patch and upload your events right to the Web site as well. We want to hear about the important happenings going on in your life. If you're getting married, graduated, won an award or honor, post it in our Announcements section. You can honor a loved one with an obituary there as well.

Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Patch isn't just about telling you about what's going on in the neighborhood. We want to hear from you as well. We invite your comments, opinions, announcements and ideas. If you think there's something that we should cover, let us know. You can email me, Editor Stephen Brown, at stephen.brown@patch.com

"A community newspaper," Stephen? How about a plug, blog boy? No link, no love! For the record, Stephen worked for The Brooklyn Paper, where he was awesome — and you can look at all his great old clips at http://www.brooklynpaper.com (oh, THERE's the link!). By the way, he stole that shot of the Atlantic Terminal from US! Cease and desist, baby — and good luck! GERSH KUNTZMAN Editor The Brooklyn Paper

It's great to have someone on the beat in my neighborhood. Don't forget about Myrtle Ave., Stephen! It's another vibrant strip of new and old businesses and represents another great part of our community. I'm sure we'll see you tonight at the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church for the launch of Brooklyn Historical Society's FG/CH Audio Tour hosted by Nelson George!
