The Early Word: Barclays to Partner With LIU-Brooklyn

Agreement to include athletics, education and branding.

1. The Barclays Center has inked a partnership deal with , cementing a relationship with yet another Fort Greene institution located just blocks from the soon-to-be-opened arena. The agreement comes in the wake of LIU's announced participation in a this December. Last year, Barclays said it would team up with Brooklyn Academy of Music—though specifics have not been released as yet.

2. Young members of said they hope to testify at a budget hearing for the city Department of Youth and Community Development Thursday morning in Lower Manhattan. 10 youths plan to take time off from work and school to make sure that the concerns of young people—especially from public housing projects in Brooklyn—are heard.
