Sept. 6: A Busy Holiday Weekend For Police

Spike in violence across Brooklyn includes shootout Monday night in Crown Heights.

1. A bystander sitting on their stoop on Park Place was killed by a stray bullet Monday night during a shootout that led to the death of two others and wounded a police officer.

2. on an incident involving Councilman Jumaane Williams, D-Brooklyn, who had a run-in with police along the parade route of the West Indian Day Carnival Monday afternoon.

3. A show commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11 opens Tuesday at the , which invited multimedia artists  that pays tribute to the volunteers that stepped up after the terrorist attacks on New York City. Visitors are invited to contribute their own paper to the skyline.
