The Winter Storm is officially underway, and though Brooklynites were experiencing rain and sleet as of 1 p.m., the storm is only getting started.

The National Weather Service, which issued a blizzard warning on Thursday, forecasted that Nemo could dump as much as 10 to 14 inches of snow on New York City.

The blizzard warning will remain in effect until Saturday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. for all of New York City, Southern Westchester County, and coastal portions of Northeast New Jersey. Higher amounts of snow accumulation are possible within developing snow bands.

Nemo is expected to hit hardest Friday night, with rain, sleet and snow coming down throughout the day and the blizzard is supposed to start at 9 p.m. and end around 2 a.m. Saturday.
