March Family Programs at the Brooklyn Museum

Beat the winter blues with these activities and events for kids.

Too cold to go to the playground and even the kids are bored of Disney Channel? Keep the doldrums of March at bay with some programs for children (and adults) at the .

Meet the Museum

Thursdays, March 8, 15, and 22, 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

This monthly three-session class has parents and caretakers working with their kids to explore art and culture through song and crafts. March's theme is "Art around the World."

The morning class is designed for children two to three years old, while the new afternoon class is open to kids up to four. Each class is an hour-and-a-half, and there is a limit of twelve families per class. Cost is $75. Register by Feb. 15 at youth.family@brooklynmuseum.org.

Arty Facts

Sundays, March 4, 11, 18, and 25, 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

"Destination Brooklyn" is the theme for March, where kids will explore Brooklyn’s past and present through art. The program is for children four to seven, and the class runs for 90 minutes. Meet in the Rubin Lobby, no RSVP necessary. Cost is museum admission, plus $10 per family for materials.

March Teen Night

Friday, March 9, 4:45-6:45 p.m.

This free event, created by teens for teens, will be celebrating Women's History Month, and will include live performances, hands-on art making, interactive activities, demonstrations and refreshments. RSVP at teen.programs@brooklynmuseum.org.
