Local Businesses to Participate in Farm to Neighborhood

Clinton Hill and Fort Greene businesses will participate a Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project (MARP) program that will connect local chefs and retailers with producers to increase access to fresh, locally grown food.

"Farm to Neighborhood," or "#Farm2Nabe" will see restaurants Maggie Brown, LuLu & Po and Putnam's Pub & Cooker buy from regional producers and host special tastings.

All scheduled events will also lend support two local farm education programs that bring farming education and nutrition awareness to Fort Greene and Clinton Hill youth, City Growers and P.S. 20 Farms.

Lauren Melodia, founder of Milk not Jails, will also be on hand to speak of the "brilliance of mobilizing people with the idea that you can change the prison system by eating more ice cream," Myrtle Minutes noted.

From 6-9 p.m. on June 11, LuLu & Po, located at 154 Carlton Ave., will host an event featuring Anthony Nappa Wines, Brooklyn Grange and Feather Ridge Farm.
