Homebrewing Competition heats up at the Slope's Union Hall tonight.

In some quarters, it may be way too early to even mention beer... but here goes:

1. 88th Precinct police got a scare late Monday night as one of their own while on the beat in Fort Greene.

2. Later this a.m., Councilman Leticia James will hold a press conference with community members celebrating the reopening of F+S Tires on Fulton, which was by the city Buildings Department in April after decades of being in business.
