Jan. 16: Council Speaker to Help Honor MLK at BAM
Quinn joins schools chancellor Dennis Walcott and Beep Marty Markowitz at holiday event.
1. Council Speaker Christine Quinn will join other local city leaders at Brooklyn Academy of Music's on Monday starting at 10:30 a.m. The celebration includes musical performances by Toshi Reagon, BIGLovely and The Institutional Radio Choir, as well as a screening of The Black Power Mixtape 1967—1975 at BAM Rose Cinemas.
2. invites residents for of regular children & adult dance & drum classes in honor of Dr. King.
3. At 1 p.m. on Monday, BAM presents , a community art exhibition featuring collages by Brooklyn New York Housing Authority residents 13 & under.
