U.S. Open (at Mullanes!)

What? Well, Venus may be out, but you still might be able to catch Serena curse at a line judge, Novak Djokovic doing impressions of his competition or even watch a new face tear up the court. And you don't even need to Zipcar it to Flushing Meadows. Instead, drop by for a pint and a match.
Where? Mullanes Bar and Grill, 71 Lafayette Ave. at S. Elliott Place.
When? Saturday, Sept. 3, Sunday, Sept. 4 and Monday, Sept. 5, starting at 11 a.m.
How Much? Free to watch, beers around $6.

What? You may not have been around in time to do the Time Warp, but you still have a chance at your own dorky cool sing along this weekend at The Bell House. Come join in this communal karaoke and set your inner Lady Marmalade free. Dress up like Nicole and Ewan (or better yet, John Leguizamo's Toulouse-Lautrec) and compete for free drinks in the costume contest, trivia contest and can-can dance off.
Where? The Bell House, 149 7th St., between Second and Third avenues.
When? Saturday, Sept. 3, 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 7)
How Much? $8 available online.

What? Labor Day gets an appropriate commemoration with this haunting look at loneliness in a remote mining town. Antonioni’s masterpiece—and his first use of color—will be presented in a beautiful new 35mm print for a limited run. Antonioni gave the look of the town a gorgeously grim sulfur–yellow glaze, making it one of the most innovative uses of color cinematography on record.

Where? BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Ave., between Ashland Place and St. Felix Street.
When?
Friday, Sept. 2 through Sunday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 6:50 p.m., 9:15 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 5 at 4:30 p.m., 6:50 p.m., 9:15 p.m. (Continues through Sept. 11).

Floating Kabarette!
