Here's our picks of things to do in the neighborhood.

What: In a past life your fearless editor had a voracious appetite for Latin American culture. That’s why we’ve been enjoying the Si Cuba festival all over town. On Friday BAMCafé will host the Cuban Cowboys; perhaps the only musicians that play Cuban surf rock.

Where: Friday, April 29 at at 30 Lafayette Ave between Ashland Place and St. Felix Street. Doors open at 6 p.m.

What: A new art gallery is always a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The opening of the salon at 904 Pacific will showcase a variety of local artists, and will feature live music by this year’s winners of the Brooklyn Battle of the Bands, Soul Folk Experience. There will be free food and drinks, too.

Where: Friday, April 29 at 904 Pacific Street between Washington and Grand avenues from 6-9 p.m.

What: This gala will highlight eco-friendly vacations available near New York. Plenty of delicious local food, wines and cheeses will be up for grabs, too. Reps from bed and breafasts, local farms and towns outside of the city will be promoting their tourist attractions.

Where: Saturday, April 30. 1 Hanson Place at Ashland Place from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Stoop Sale for Japan at Lucky Lotus Yoga

What: Bring your own stuff, or buy other people’s stuff, all for a good cause.  Proceeds go to the ongoing relief effort in Japan in the wake of the tsunami and nuclear crisis.

Where: Saturday, April 30. at 230 DeKalb Ave. at Clermont Avenue from 10 a.m.- 6:30 p.m.

How Much: Spend what you like.

Society for Clinton Hill House Tour

What: Once a year, locals in some of Clinton Hill’s most historic and intriguing homes open their doors to the general public. The Society for Clinton Hill House Tour is a to snoop around some of the most elegant abodes in Brooklyn.

Where: Sunday, May 1. The self-guided tour begins at at 300 Vanderbilt Ave. at Lafayette Avenue and runs from noon-5 p.m.
