Urban croquet!!! Can FAB get any more metrosexual??? What the hell is FAB doing anyway? What the hell is urban croquet and how does it help improve business? The toddler concerts don't bring in business either and today someone was handing out an ad from FAB about their plans to redesign and suburbanize Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. What next, an all-day reading of Fifty Shades of Grey for the lusty moms in our midst?

Daisy: its one thing to verge on gaybashing with your bandying about "metrosexual" as a pejorative, or suggest that soon we will have lusty moms heaving their busts in response to lengthy readings of soft porn in public places. But when you begin to attack the toddlers, methinks you go too far! They are so innocent, so soft of knee and elbow. Leave the kids out of it. Attack someone your own size!

The Romans had a term for FAB's diversions and distractions. They called it bread and circuses, in other words, throw a couple of crumbs to the masses and put on a show to keep them quiet. The famous Gotti Fourth of July celebrations were a version of that and FAB's increasingly giddier and sillier imported entertainments follow in the tradition. Exploit the kids. Kids aren't going to questions the motives of anyone offering a free lollipop. A kid doesn't know or care that FAB is a self-interested real estate and developer lobby. Free fried chicken and soda is a good exchange for the takeover of Fulton Street. Manhattan was bought for not too much money a few years ago. Bright, shiny trinkets.

More and more people are waking up to the cynical motives of FAB. Its exploitation of the children is especially cynical, but it's imported entertainments are intended to make the adults feel like Las Vegas has come to Fulton Street, just for the fun of it all. FAB brings in numbers of helpers, none of whom come from the neighborhood. What are the helpers being paid? Who are they? FAB remains a strange operation run by unseen powers.

I'm not sure what FAB is. I have wondered who all these people are with the FAB id tags around their necks. They don't come from the neighborhood. Why do they need id tags? Is FAB an arm of the government?
