Dec. 30: Kevin Spacey Takes the BAM Stage As Richard III
Oscar-winning thespian hits the Fort Greene boards on Jan. 10
1. As reported in this story in today's Brooklyn Paper which compares Shakespeare's Richard III to Kim Jong Il and Muammar Ghaddafi (?), The Usual Suspects star Kevin Spacey will play the titular character in a production premiering at the on Jan. 10 and running through March 4. We still say, Keyser Söze be damned: Richard got a bum rap.
2. Courtesy of reader Jen Hirsch comes this video by Fort Greene filmmaker Taylor Toole chronicling Shirts and Destroy owner Ryan Begley getting a collaborative full back tattoo. Ouch. Choice track by Deer Tick takes off some of the edge, though.
3. The historic Apollo Theater in Harlem, N.Y.C. will host a featuring Abdel R. Salaam's Forces of Nature Dance Theatre tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $16.
