Dec. 21: New Dance Studio Offers December Preview

Free Zumba class this Friday in Fort Greene.

1. Cumbe: Center for African and Diasporan Dance, a recently opened dance studio at 558 Fulton St. (just off Atlantic Ave.), will hold a free Friday night Zumba class from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as part of its December preview. For those unable to attend this week, Cumbe will also hold its official Grand Opening celebration on Jan. 7-8, allowing the community to check out this newly-renovated space offering dance and music classes for adults and children, cultural workshops, and space rentals for events and parties.

2. Brooklyn residents just getting used to the occasional Zach Galifianakis sighting got some shocking news yesterday as HBO announced the cancellation of the comedian's premium-cable gem, "Bored to Death," after three seasons.

3. Every third Wednesday of the month, Ford YMCA at 225 Atlantic Ave. offers about a different health and wellness topic. Today's session is perhaps apropos for the Holiday season: Stress Management.
