2013 Summer Youth Employment Program Deadline Approaches

SYEP is the nation's largest summer youth employment initiative and provides six weeks of summer employment and educational experiences to the city's youth aged 14 to 24.

Summer is fast approaching, and so is the May 10 deadline for New York City residents aged 14 to 24 to apply for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

SYEP is the nation’s largest summer youth employment initiative and provides six weeks of summer employment and educational experiences to the city's youth. Participants will engage in activities that capitalize on individual strengths, develop skills and competencies, and connect youth with positive adult role models.

From July 8 to Aug. 16, SYEP will provide entry-level work experience in a variety of jobs at thousands of worksites, including community-based organizations, government agencies and private sector businesses.

Younger youth will work 20 hours per week; all other participants will work 25 hours per week.

For more information and to apply, visit nyc.gov/dycd or call DYCD Youth Connect at (800) 246-4646.
