Who is the next Lia Neal?
That's the question Let's Move! Brooklyn hoped to find the answer to at an Saturday in Bed-Stuy that combined the spirit of a pep rally with the sweat of a good old-fashioned workout.
"The story of Lia tells us that one of you might be our next Olympian," Lets Move! Brooklyn organizer Lockie Andrews told a small but energetic crowd of youngsters at the new track and field at Campus 117 on Willoughby Avenue.
Councilwoman Letitia James, D-Fort Greene, then led a cheer for Neal, who along with the rest of the U.S. Women's 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay team earlier Saturday.
"She's an example for all of these kids," James said.
Olympic Fun Day events were also held at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Brooklyn Children's Museum.
