The Latest on LICH: A rally will be held today at noon in front of the Cobble Hill hospital at 339 Hicks St. to protest a proposal to allow for-profit hospitals in Brooklyn. This could impact all future health care options in the borough. Will you join the fight?

Restaurant Rumor Mill: Word is spreading that a new dining establishment entitled Schiano di Cola is planning to open at 14 Putnam Avenue. Anyone with further information, please share it in the comments or shoot us an e-mail.

Nighttime Event(s) of Note: Author Phillip Meyer will be reading at Greenlight Bookstore tonight at 7:30 p.m. The shop's website describes his latest work, The Son, as "a multi-generational epic set in Texas... Spanning most of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the narrative tells the story not just of the settlement of the west, but of the moral cost of America’s rise to power, and of the people and cultures we have displaced along the way."
