Opponents restated their belief that the city manufactured its own data in favor of the lane, and explained why they decided to file a lawsuit against the project. A lane supporter said it had done precisely what it was intended to do: calm traffic, and protect cyclists.

SUV Careens into Apartment

An out of control SUV slammed into an apartment building at Washington Avenue and Eastern Parkway on Wednesday, injuring seven people including three cops. The 78-unit building near the Brooklyn Museum was left with a shattered window and damage to its exterior. Locals saw the wreck as yet another example of an exceptionally dangerous intersection.

Funeral for a Fallen Police Officer

A cop from the 84th Precinct killed in the line of duty was laid to rest in a touching ceremony in Long Island on Friday. Officer Alain Schaberger was allegedly pushed over a railing while responding to a domestic dispute call in Boerum Hill. The suspect, George Villanueva, who has a lengthy arrest record, is in custody. Schaberger, 42, was to marry his fiancée this summer.
