Boy Arrested for Assaulting Ice Cream Man: Police Blotter

A roundup of recent crime in the area:

At 7 p.m. on May 2, police arrested an 11-year-old boy for allegedly throwing rocks at a 27-year-old man and his ice cream truck parked at Willoughby and Saint Edwards streets. One rock the boy allegedly threw hit the ice cream man in his face, and another he threw broke the truck's windshield.

At 7:30 p.m. on April 29, a 34-year-old woman said she boarded a crowded B38 bus at Jay and Smith streets. Before boarding, the woman said she put her iPhone 5 in her right coat pocket. When she got off of the bus at Lafayette and Vanderbilt avenues, she said she realized her phone was missing.

A 42-year-old man parked his Nissan on Saint James Place and DeKalb Avenue at 10:30 p.m. on April 30. When he returned to the car at 2:30 p.m. on May 1, its left, rear passenger-side window was broken and his license, registration, wallet, insurance card and debit card were missing.
