A NYC Weekend of Bullets and Bloodshed

Twenty-five people were shot in the matter of 48 hours.

Article by C. Zawadi Morris

Twenty-five people were injured from gun violence in less than 48 hours over the weekend in New York City, including 23-year-old Antonio Wilson, who was fatally shot in Clinton Hill Friday, reported the Daily News.

Beginning Friday night, and lasting for the next two days, a total of six people were shot and killed across the five boroughs – excluding Staten Island-- representing 5 percent of this year’s roughly 440 shootings.

At least 12 people were blasted in Brooklyn, eight in the Bronx and another four in Queens. The sole person shot in Manhattan took several slugs to the chest and perished in broad daylight.

Despite the violence, that figure represents a 23% drop compared with the 574 victims shot through this time last year.
