5 Things You Need To Know Today: Weekend Edition

It'll be a gorgeous weekend for some winter family fun.

1. Some lucky animals at the Prospect Park Zoo (450 Flatbush Ave.) today and tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Watch for free as golden lion tamarins and dwarf mongoose tear into treat filled bags and boxes.

2. Alphabet Arts (310 Atlantic Ave.) is hosting a very special today and tomorrow from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Over two afternoons, children ages 7-12 can learn about a miniature form of puppetry called Toy Theater. Guided by teaching artists, participants will build, perform with, and take home their very own toy theaters based on famous winter poems. The workshop fee is $50, which includes all materials. 3. The Central Library at 10 Grand Army Plaza is holding two starting at 10 a.m. today. Make your way over and learn one of the world’s most dramatic dances from a professional instructor.

4. It’s Recessionista Weekend at Collecther vintage shop at 306 Franklin Ave bet. Clifton Place and Lafayette Avenue. Stop by and shop the savings, and grab some free cider while you’re at it.

5. Make sure you get out and about this weekend. It'll be unseasonably warm yet again, with Saturday around 42 degrees, Sunday around 39, and sun for miles.
