5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY: Pick Up A Cheap Tree For A Good Cause

1. Pick up a cheap tree for a good cause starting at noon today at at 444 Clinton Ave between Gates Avenue and Greene Avenue. Trees cost a suggested donation of $35-$50 and proceeds go to Teen Challenge, a non-profit organization offering a variety of programs for neglected youths.

In case you missed it, three federal and local organizations have introduced a program to Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Bed-Stuy in order to assist first time homeowners in buying foreclosed properties. The program, called , will dole out up to $80,000 in forgivable loans to first time homeowners who agree to attend a series of counseling workshops as well as agree to live in the neighborhood for 15 years or more.
