5 Things: Learn How To Launch Your Dream Business

Plus, music, museum exhibits and more Brooklyn events.

1. Win $15k to launch a business.
Have an idea for a moneymaking venture you think would benefit your neighborhood? Brooklyn Public Library wants to hear all about it. Between now and April 4, interested parties can attend a PowerUp! orientation at one of three BPL locations and be entered in a competition to win $15,000 to help launch a dream business. This program is sponsored by Citi Foundation. Visit the Brooklyn Public Library site for more details.

2. Feel something. The Brooklyn Museum is offering an inclusive tour designed "for individuals who are blind or partially sighted" as well as curious adults interested in experiencing art beyond sight. The exhibition "Workt by Hand": Hidden Labor and Historical Quilts will be interpreted with rich verbal descriptions, tastes of small bites and tactile experiences. Free with admission, but reservations are requested at access@brooklynmuseum.org. 6:30 p.m.

3. Snag some tickets. This weekend, FreeTown Produce will be hosting a Cajun food and music festival at Jalopy Theatre. Peruse the schedule for all three days of different cooking classes, music performances, square dancing and more. Then make your picks! Prices range from $15 to 37.50.

4. Be earnestly moody. Lead guitarist for The Dears, Krief, will perform his latest solo effort, Hundred Thousand Pieces, at The Rock Shop tonight. A collection of 10 darkly introspective songs about the growing older and financial instability on the road, the album uniquely captures the inner dialogue of a traveling musician. The Rock Shop, 249 4th Ave., 7:30 p.m. $8

5. Move your car. Alternate side parking rules are in effect today.
