The Brooklyn Crescents Youth Lacrosse Club Announces Summer League

The Brooklyn Crescents (BCLC), Brooklyn’s largest and oldest youth lacrosse program announced today details of their Summer programming.  The Crescents will be making the wonderful Brooklyn Bridge Park and McLaughlin Park their home for the summer with a mix of beginner’s clinics, open play and workshops for boys and girls from Kindergarten all the way to 8th grade.

Beginning on July 11th and running through August 29th all are welcome to play or learn the “The Creator’s Game” with world class coaches and instructors.  Lacrosse is North America’s oldest sport.  It was played by Native Americans for centuries before European colonization and served not only as recreation but also a war game – a way to settle disputes among tribes and nations.  Fast forward to 2013 and lacrosse is the fastest growing sport on the youth, high school as well as collegiate level.

The Brooklyn Crescents have been committed to bringing the sport to the youth of Brooklyn since 2006.  Since then the organization is proud to have dozens of their alumni (young men and women) playing high school lacrosse at some of the best public and private high schools across New York and the country.  Some of the first Crescents are now playing college ball atDivision I, II, and III schools.
