The rise in breweries across New York State has become apparent over the past decade, and these breweries have become an important part of the economy.
Governor Andrew Cuomo has recently encouraged New Yorkers to "Taste NY", which isn't too hard with over 100 breweries in the state and four registered with the New York State Brewers Association right in Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Brewery, KelSo of Brooklyn, Shmaltz Brewing Co./Coney Island Brewing Co. and Sixpoint Craft Ales are the four registered in Brooklyn. Brooklyn Brewery was also highlighted by the governor as one of the state’s "well-known breweries with fans across the state, the country, and in some cases, around the world."
