The Burger King of Fort Greene

67 Burger is deliciously over the top.

Want to test your intestinal fortitude? Look no further than the delicious 67 Burger.

The fast food joint’s namesake is a juicy seven-ounce hunk of beef topped with blue cheese and a stack of bacon that is a meal in itself — and it only costs $9.

This burger is so big that I felt like the Food Gods had thrown down the gauntlet and challenged my stomach to a duel.

When it was served to me, the “Jock Jams” classic blasted, “Are y’all ready for this?” — the timing was perfect. I felt like Joey Chestnut gearing up for a competitive eating contest at Coney Island.

The hamburger was bloody and delicious. The blue cheese was creamy; a smooth contrast to the crispy bacon.

At one point I literally said to my dining companion, “I need some more water, I’m about to die.”

But I still devoured the burger in less than 20 minutes.

I had won the battle — the plate covered in blood and the mountain of napkins around my plate was proof of the Herculean effort it required.

Most importantly, I was left with the feeling of having accomplished something important.

Of course, the burger isn’t all on the menu. You can’t find curly fries ($3.95) just anywhere, but 67 Burger has them. And they are delicious.

All told, it was one of the more decadent meals I’ve had in recent memory, but it was worth it.

But now there are new  “quality” fast food joints that are preparing to challenge 67 Burger’s dominance of Fort Greene.

, a national chain, is opening mere blocks away on DeKalb Avenue. And over at the end of the Fulton Mall, the first Brooklyn location of the super-popular Shake Shack chain will open later this year.

But forgive me if I’m a little skeptical of these pretenders to 67’s throne — I’m still recovering from my food coma.
