Small Business Saturday Set For Fort Greene-Clinton Hill

Two different business improvement districts to join forces.

Fulton Area Business Alliance and Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership will band together to give a much needed shot-in-the-arm for local small businesses Thanksgiving weekend.

The two business improvement districts, which cover different parts of Fort Greene-Clinton Hill, announced plans to jointly host kid friendly activities to help draw shoppers to Small Business Saturday on Nov. 26.

“It only makes sense that we work together, since Fort Greene-Clinton Hill is like one small town,” said FAB manager Phillip Kellogg.

Plans include a free trolley traveling along Myrtle Avenue from Ashland Place to Classon Avenue and on Fulton Street between those same cross-streets. And for all the kids in attendance, Santa will riding along from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“This event will provide an opportunity for residents across both neighborhoods to easily get to the many locally-owned businesses up and down Myrtle and Fulton, to do some early holiday shopping,” said Michael Blaise Backer, executive director of the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership.
