Jan. 9: Brooklyn Tap House's 'Soft Opening'

Area's newest beer garden debuts at Myrtle Avenue and Taafe Place.

1. Though it may be months away from outdoor drinking weather, has opened its doors. The new alehouse and indoor/outdoor beer garden held its "soft" Grand Opening last weekend. And according to its website, 40 different kinds of beer on tap are already a-flowing.

2. The main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza will host today at 10:15 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.

3. FASTRACK, a new MTA service plan involving for maintenance, begins tonight on the No. 4, 5 and 6 lines. There will be no trains between Atlantic Ave. and Grand Central stations from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
