Get Out: What To Do This Weekend

Our best—and mostly free—picks for spending the weekend in the neighborhood.

What's better than a weekend of live music, film, comedy and art in Brooklyn? When all of the above are free (give or take $5 or however much you spend on beer.) Send July out with a bang with our picks for the best events in the immediate Fort Greene-Clinton Hill vicinity.

Plus, a pre-show presentation of short film usie's Ghost by Bill Brand and music DJ-ed by David Last, and if you bike over, bike valet provided by Transportation Alternatives. And who knows, on the way home as you go by various tressles and overpasses, you might catch a glimpse of some of JMB's early work!

Second Annual Fort Greene Jazz Festival

The Party Machine 1 Year Anniversary Show
What?
Got any good jokes? Neither do we, which is why well be heading down to 5th Avenue this weekend to steal material from the experts as performers from shows like SNL, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, The Daily Show and more ply their trade. Plus “odd party acts” and maybe a celebrity guest in this 12th installment of the monthly Party Machine event.

Union Hall, 702 Union St. at Fifth Avenue in Park Slope.
