Former Clinton Hill Vinyl Shop Storefront Sees New Life

Previously Dope Jams, the 580 Myrtle Ave. store now will house "2,500 square feet of strollers."

A once-eclectic Clinton Hill storefront has begun to see new life, but unfortunately for former patrons of the shop, it does not look like a similar business is moving in.

Formerly Dope Jams, a vinyl shop located at 580 Myrtle Ave., the storefront was a recognizable one. A bright green door with a red frame stood out against a black brick wall, and a sign adorned with red creatures advertized the store's offerings, including books and "musik."

Now, though the store has maintained its online presence, all physical traces of the shop are gone. A sign promising "Over 2,500 square feet of strollers" now hangs in the store's window, and wood panels cover the formerly colorful and vibrant Dope Jams sign.

What do you think of the changes to 580 Myrtle Ave., and what do you think is coming to the shop? Do you miss the record store? Sound off in the comments section below.
