Cochinita Owner To Nabe: "We Will Be Back"

Cause of Tuesday's blaze that left two families homeless and a business ruined is said to be electrical in nature.

For a small business owner who just three days ago watched helplessly as months of work was doused in a torrent of water, Adam Frank seemed almost impossibly calm.

"S**t happens and you move on," said the proprietor of the recently opened taqueria , which was shuttered as a result of that broke out in an apartment above the eatery at 922 Fulton St. "It still sucks though."

According to Frank, the restaurant suffered extensive water damage during the blaze, which began at 1:14 p.m. and took hours for 64 firefighters from 12 different units to bring under control.

Despite the destruction, Frank vowed to reopen—though the Clinton Hill resident acknowledged that there were plenty of obstacles ahead.

"It's going to be a construction site all over again," he said.

For one, Frank said that the buiding now had two holes in the roof that needed to be repaired before any work could be done on the restaurant's electrical system, which was extensively damaged by water used to douse the flames in the apartments above.

"We are going to reopen but the timeline is really out of my hands," he said. "We will be back."

While repairs slowly move forward, Frank said he planned to look at several "pop-up" locations to bring his to the people.

As for the fire, Frank said an investigator told him it was electrical in nature and started in one of two apartments on the building's second floor.

According to an FDNY spokesman, the cause has not been determined and is still under investigation.
