Local Healthcare Provider Named 'Hometown Hospital' By Barclays Center

Partnership brings entertainment and healthcare information to soon-to-be-opened mega arena.

has been named the Barclays Center’s official “Hometown Hospital” and will open an Interactive Space inside the arena to provide entertainment and healthcare information during events.

“We are thrilled to be the official Hometown Hospital of Barclays Center, which is continuing the renaissance of downtown Brooklyn,” said Dr. Richard Becker, BHC president and CEO. “Our partnership with Barclays Center will aim to keep Brooklyn healthy by providing a very visible and important platform to accomplish our goals.”

“We are delighted to welcome The Brooklyn Hospital Center as our official Hometown Hospital,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of Barclays Center. “The Brooklyn Hospital Center has been keeping Brooklyn healthy for more than 160 years and is an important Brooklyn institution. In becoming a part of the borough’s diverse community, Barclays Center is dedicated to teaming with The Brooklyn Hospital Center in promoting health and wellness.”

The Brooklyn Hospital Center will also sponsor all Barclays Center promoted high-school-related events and host a Brooklyn Hoops basketball camp for 50 kids. 

In addition, the hospital also plans to conduct health education and screenings, provide giveaways, activities, and health tips for fans and athletes in conjunction with the Barclays Center mobile unit, The Experience. The hospital also plans to set up tables and booths in the arena’s outdoor plaza.
