Bittersweet to Shut For Renovations

Regulars at this tiny Dekalb Avenue coffee to get a treat come post-Thanksgiving weekend.

Java hunters in the vicinity of Fort Greene Park will momentarily have to travel—gasp!—a few more blocks to get their caffeine fix come Monday.

An employee at , a charmingly tiny coffee shop at 180 Dekalb Ave. in Fort Greene, confirmed that the business would undergo a renovation from Nov. 21-28.

On tap for the "new" Bittersweet will be new lighting and seating at the bar—which seems like a tough proposition due to the coffee shop's railroad apartment layout.

Bittersweet, serving vegetarian sandwiches and Balthazar's supplied pastries on top of its strong coffee drinks, is located between Cumberland Street and Carlton Avenue and is normally open 7 days a week.
