The Weekend Tip: New Voices in Black Cinema

A four-day festival at BAM celebrates up-and-coming filmmakers.

1. A showcase of the best and the brightest black filmmakers continues this weekend, including screenings of The Tested, Let's Stay Together and Sneaker Stories, among others. BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Ave. Feb. 18-19. Various times, check website for details.

2. Fitness, community and good times come together at this Zumba Dance Fitness class that promises to burn up to 500 to 800 calories. Move With Grace Studio, 469 Myrtle Ave. Saturday, Feb. 18. 1 p.m. $15.

3. Experience the National Gallery’s wildly popular sold-out exhibition, “Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan,” in HD. BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Ave. Sunday, Feb. 19. 11 a.m. $12.

4. Vendors, food, drummers and door prizes will be on hand at this neighborhood Black History Celebration. Queen of All Saints Church, 300 Vanderbilt Ave. Sunday, Feb. 19. 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

5. Borough-born comic Dave Lester (Bill Bellamy's "Who's Got Jokes?" and Morgan Spurlock's "FREAKONOMICS") brings 90 minutes of ab-crunching laughs. Mo's, 80 Lafayette Ave. Sunday, Feb. 19. 9 p.m. Free.
