The Piano Playing Policeman!

Officer Chris Yip of the 88th Precinct tickled the ivories at a piano recital at the Brooklyn Music School last weekend.

He's a policeman by day, and a musician by night.

Officer Chris Yip of the 88th Precinct played a piano recital last weekend at the Brooklyn Music School to raise funds for the nonprofit Chinese-American Planning Council, which is based in Chinatown.

Yip, who immigrated to the city from China at a young age, said that he fell in love with the piano while walking the beat.

Now, he says that playing piano is a means of escape from the stresses of policework.
